Will Fraser-Allen, managing partner of Albion Capital, believes that it is a good time to invest in Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs) due to lower valuations compared to pre-pandemic levels. VCTs have performed better than the wider venture capital industry, with a 28% decrease in cash invested in VCTs in 2023 compared to the previous year, while the wider industry experienced a 46% decline.
Will cites that “VCTs are a good long-term investment vehicle, they invest through the cycles so you are able to smooth out cycles, which you can’t do in a fund.”
