Marco Yu, Head of Renewables promoted to Partner
It is with great pleasure that today we announce that Marco Yu, Head of Renewables at Albion Capital, has been promoted to partner with immediate effect. Marco’s promotion to partner is one of several at Albion, designed to expand the senior team in support of Albion Capital’s growth plans.
Marco invests in energy companies that are enabling the transition to net-zero through scaling existing technologies in both renewable energy production and storage. Marco works closely with management teams to commercialise their solutions through deploying capital and streamlining processes and technologies. Marco has a PHD in Construction Economics from UCL and since joining Albion in 2007 he has been involved with 40 investments.
Jay Wilson, Simon Goldman and David Grimm have also been promoted to partner, bringing their respective expertise in financial technology, life sciences and deeptech to the partnership.
The appointments add to Albion’s deep domain expertise across technology, healthcare and renewable energy, as it continues to drive investment in early-stage, technology-led British businesses.
Will Fraser-Allen, Managing Partner, says:
“Marco’s recent promotion is a recognition of his hard work, expertise and success at Albion. Marco’s deep sector knowledge of the renewable energy industry will ensure that Albion remains at the core of the transition to net zero.
This promotion coincides with a number of other promotions to partner, demonstrating Albion’s belief that expanding the partnership with individuals who have deep knowledge of innovative, high growth sectors will enable Albion to stay at the forefront of rapidly changing industries and continue our role in bringing British innovation to life and supporting entrepreneurs on their growth journey.”
